Part 1:  Managing Your Brains Arousal

Stress is a part of life.  How we manage and react to stress is the only thing we have control over.  By understanding what is happening physically in our brains and bodies it can be easier to learn to become more proactive rather than reactive.

This week we will focus on the biology of stress and how we can both prevent and manage the stress response in our lives.

Page_2.jpgSummary of the Exercises for this Week:
  • #1:  For one day rate your stress reaction to the events of your day on a scale from 1-100.  1 = pure calm and 100 = the house is on fire!
  • #2:  Pick 2 of the actions (listed in above PDF text file) on how to manage stress and apply them today as often as you can remember to do so!

How does this work in real life?

It's nice to just talk about managing your brains arousal and the stress response, but what does that mean in a more practical way?

It will always come back to the big questions:  "what do you want?"  There will be days you don't feel like doing any of this, that is okay.  There will be moments you will observe yourself being very reactive and not wanting to stop, that is okay.  There will be days you just say, enough, and choose to let go of whatever you are upset about and that is okay!

There is NO right or wrong or urgent or even mandatory need to do or use any of this!  What you will find as you become more proactive instead of reactive is that you just feel better, you have more energy and your time seems to expand.

You will stop blaming other or feeling like a victim of circumstances.  You will feel more powerful as you see your ability to make choices under all circumstances.  You will feel more peace and less negativity.

As all these things happen, your vibration rate will just begin to rise and you then notice the other areas of your life just seem to flow more smoothly.  You will smile more, laugh more and one day you will notice that you just don't get upset very often anymore.  Then you can say to yourself, hey - I did that!

                                                   Why is this Important?

Managing our mental processes and brain will go a long way to facilitate your ability to focus, create and manage your emotions.
This 4 week series is based on Mental Training methods used by the Navy Seals and Elite Athletes around the world. It has been adapted to our purposes, but the basic principles have been extensively researched and verified by scientists and academics.

An athlete will train an average of 10,000 hours on mental training before they reach the elite level.  These same athletes report that 90% of their success is mental training.

Warriors and mystics for 1000's of years spent a great deal of their training and lessons on mastering their minds under all forms of stress and experiences.

Every spiritual tradition states that mastering our minds is at the CORE of our ability to be successful.

Our focus will be to capitalize on what others have already proven!  By taking one week to more fully develop your mental muscles on each topic you will gain greater benefit then trying to discuss them all at once.

"Does this stuff work for horses too?  All this hanging out in the pastures with the clouds and wildflowers is quite stressful you know!"

P.S. Humor is a very important tool to use daily!
